7 Random Things to Look Forward to in 2023

This New Year, we won’t be giving you ways to plan the year out, achieve your goals or engage in personal development. Research actually shows us that those things don’t make us as happy as some of the smaller things anyway.

Instead, we’re going to tell you some of the randomest, little-est things to look forward to in the coming year.

    1. Unexpected $$$ in your pant pockets

We’ve all had those glorious moments. You pull on your pants and feel something crinkly and lumpy to reach into your pocket and find a single currency note that somehow survived the washing machine. Ah, the triumph!
Sometimes crisp or a little soggy, but it still feels like a lucky day, or a gift from yourself from the past.

    2. Terrible Selfies

Some people are anti-selfie. But we at Kaha Mind are strong proponents of the selfie – especially if it gives you and your friends joy. And you know what? The awkward-er the better. Give us bad angles, tousled hair and even a cringe-y outdated duckface.
This 2023 we invite you to take selfies with your friends, or your pets and go ahead and spam people with pictures of your face. Because why not?

    3. Bursting into giggles

Remember all the serious moments when you suddenly had the inexplicable urge to laugh? Or when your friend personal-messages you during a video meeting and you have to make a valiant effort to keep a straight face?

Giggling and laughter has been found to significantly reduce our stress levels. So go on, let yourself have a moment of fun – the to-do lists and the more serious stuff can wait.

    4. Toasty Beverages

No matter how deep our love for cold brews and cocktails runs, there’s a feeling of fuzziness a hot drink gives us that can’t be replicated. Whether it’s an evening cup of tea while reading, a cappuccino with friends, or a late-night hot chocolate, warm beverages have a special place in our hearts.

    5. Nostalgia-Inducing Music

You know what we’re talking about. The songs differ from person to person, but whether it’s Backstreet Boys, Miley Cyrus or some old Bollywood song – there’s some music that instantaneously transports you back in time. Suddenly, you feel your shoulders lighten and you end up taking a trip down memory lane to much simpler times.

    6. Cooking something unexpectedly tasty

This holds true for whether you’re the kind of person who pieces together a sandwich and calls it cooking (no shame in that), or the kind of person that casually makes three-course meals on weekdays. Making something that hits all the right notes is an achievement unto its own. And, suddenly, you feel like you deserve to be on Masterchef.
So go ahead, scuttle into your kitchen to whip up a midnight snack, or alternatively,- meticulously plan a proud culinary experiment for people that you love this year. The choice is yours, and so is the joy.

    7. Dying plants making a comeback

We love it when fresh green leaves suddenly sprout just when you’d lost hope for a plant’s recovery. If you’re a gardening enthusiast, you’ll resonate with this one a lot more, but even if you’re just a casual observer of nature – you might want to take time out to appreciate this in 2023.

With this, we’re wrapping up our list of random things – but it doesn’t have to stop here. You can go ahead and make your very own list of random things you want to look out for in 2023! 🙂
